Senior Property Manager


The Senior Property Manager manages all activities related to the multifamily assets of the company. This is accomplished through positive leadership, direction, and motivation of all employees. The Senior Property Manager ensures the operations and profitability of the assets are maximized while continuing to improve the company’s reputation in each community it operates. This position reports to the Director of Operations, will oversee a group of ten to fifteen assets and is responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and coaching his/her team of property managers, leasing agents, and maintenance personnel. The Senior Property Manager is the "go to" for all multifamily property operations and results.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist in developing strategies and implementation plans to improve and standardize all aspects of property operations and processes
  • Supervise, train, coach, and manage performance for your team, including weekly staff meetings and regularly scheduled individual staff meetings
  • Analyze asset performance versus original underwriting and competitive set performance to adjust management strategies as necessary
  • Work with acquisitions, finance and analyst teams to complete due diligence on new acquisitions in the region
  • Prepare and present annual budgets and business plans for each asset that illustrate entrepreneurial strategies for adding value, and enhancing performance
  • Lead operations strategy - set clear goals and expectations relating to revenue, expenses, occupancy, and collections
  • Ensure renovated units and condition of the overall property continually meet Company standards
  • Comprehensive understanding of multifamily market in Houston metro region with track record of successful execution of marketing programs
  • Management experience in both new property “lease up” and B+ to C+ value add properties
  • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated ability to understand portfolio operating goals and work with on-site teams to achieve financial results
  • Creative self-starter and team player willing to go above and beyond on a regular basis
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to include the proven ability to present to an executive team, advisory board and outside investors
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to develop and implement a long-term strategic plan.
